17 - Art on the Go - MIA, Tues, July 11, 3-4:30pm
Please join us at MIA with tour guide Jan Sedgewick. Jan has been giving tours there for 17 years and is still very in love with hosting visitors. The collection of art is quite extensive and there are many themes that can be addressed and discussed. She can tailor a tour to the group's desire, or we can meander the galleries and stop where there is interest. MIA has a website where you can look ahead and decide if there's something specific you'd like to see. Also, there are traveling exhibitions throughout the year, so there's always something new to discover. There will be more Artability On the Go outings and tours with Jan to come!
Note: Please arrive by 3:30. We will meet at the tables in the coffee shop on the 1st floor from 3:00-3:30. The walking portion of the tour will take place for 1 hour from 3:30-4:30. Wheelchairs are available- just ask the front desk when you walk in.

17 - Expressive Weaving, MPLS, Sat, July 16, 11am-4pm
In this day long workshop, we will create colorful free-form weavings with vibrant yarn and fabric. Free form or expressive weaving is often described as relaxing and meditative, because there are few rules. Participants that attended the previous weaving class will be introduced to more advanced techniques. New weavers will start with the basics. When you arrive, looms will be set up, so that you can have plenty of class time to weave. We will have 5 hours of weaving time. We will break a half hour for lunch. There will be snacks and water provided, but please bring something for lunch. Beginners and advanced artists welcome.
Note: Artists must register with Artability to attend, because of the limited number of looms.
